DWELL // apartment homemaking + Design
It seems like it would be as natural as your love, but combining two individuals different styles and unique tastes into one home is often times more like an arranged marriage. However, no one wants their stuff to feel like it has to co exist; merely tolerating the other persons' things, just hoping one day love will happen! How can we make certain our homes represent the best combination of “us” in their style and design?
We've lived in our apartment for almost two years. We have this amazing outdoor terrace space (kinda a luxury in nyc!) that has been completely empty - nothing more than a large bathroom for our puppy - up until a week ago when we finally filled it will plants and furniture!
Tyler & I have been working really hard to keep our apartment always looking it's best. As Airbnb hosts, it's even more important for our space to be in tip top shape.
Alarm snoozed. Roll over to pretend for five more minutes that the inevitable can be forestalled. Roll out of bed. Late. Minutes to get ready. Rush out the door. Sound familiar?
The kitchen is the beating heart of our home (and probably yours too). In my childhood home the kitchen table & space were where we gathered for meals, games, conversation, & work. Now I’m all grown up with a big girl kitchen of my own
Here's a little look-see around our second bedroom, or as we call it, our Airbnb suite ;) ;)
It took Tyler and I a few months to get together our own bedroom space, let alone furnish a second bedroom.
“tis better to give than to receive”
We hear that phrase often this time of year, and I think all of us can attest to its truth.
Over the summer I found the instagram page of a beautiful artist, Maryann Moody. As I scrolled through her pieces and found other inspiration I realized I had caught the highly contagious weaver fever!
